Al-Watan Condemns Israeli Entity's Continued Establishment of Settlement Projects

Doha, April 08 (QNA) - Al-Watan newspaper condemned in its editorial on Friday the continued establishment of settlement projects by the Israeli entity, the operations of Judaizing Jerusalem and daring to carry them out at this particular stage to permanently close the door to the possibility of implementing the two-state solution, by escalating settlement construction and imposing further changes on the historical, legal and demographic reality existing in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The newspaper pointed out that these actions of the occupying state come as a result of the various right-wing parties exploiting the developments taking place in the Israeli partisan arena, to strengthen their positions at the expense of the Palestinian people and their rights, especially in light of the confusion that has taken place, not only in the political papers and party alliances, but also at the level of the programs and policies of those parties. The Al-Watan noted that the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned against the consequences of the Israeli occupation government, headed by the extremist Naftali Bennett, and the various settlement groups and organizations, to escalate its aggression against the Palestinian people, their property and their holy sites. It also warned that the settlement organizations are exploiting this political chaos to pass their plan regarding the spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque, performing Talmudic ritual prayers and providing offerings on religious feasts and occasions in its courtyards or proceed with the implementation of its plan regarding the construction of the alleged "Temple". It also held the government of the Israeli entity fully and directly responsible for the results and repercussions of this escalation during the blessed month of Ramadan, especially its negative consequences for the US, international and regional efforts to calm the situation and build confidence between the two sides. In conclusion, Al-Watan demanded the UN Security Council to be bold and free from the policy of double standards in dealing with international issues and take the necessary measures to implement the UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue, such as Resolution 2334, which enables the Palestinian people to exercise their right of self-determination and to embody their independent state on their homeland, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
