QU Signs MoU with Mogadishu University

Doha, April 12 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mogadishu University, a leading higher education institution in Somalia, to establish joint cooperation covering different, scientific, administrative, technical and research areas. QU President Dr. Hassan Al Derham and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mogadishu University Dr. Abdurahman Moallim Abdullahi were on hand to sign the agreement in the QU campus, which will pave the way for the two parties to collaborate in the area of graduate programs. The MoU constitutes a basis for collaboration to exchange experiences and information such as newsletters, journals, studies, statistics, and other data. In addition, the two institutions aim to conduct studies, hold conferences, meetings, and trainings as well as offer scholarships for outstanding postgraduate students from the University of Mogadishu to prepare them as faculty members. QU intends to support Mogadishu University with various educational equipment and help in promoting Arabic language programs in Somalia, which the Mogadishu University gives priority to in all its programs.
