EU support for Yemen's food security policies discussed

SANA'A, May 27 (Saba) - Yemen and European Union (EU) discussed here
on Wednesday European technical support trends for Yemen's food
security polices.

Chairing a meeting with EU's Commission to Yemen, Minister of
Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi
affirmed that the government seeks to develop the national strategy
of food security to be a national action plan serving essentially
the main economic sectors, especially the agriculture and irrigation
sectors.

The Minister highlighted the significance of carrying out the
national strategy of food security in Yemen which is currently being
developed to be used for the purposes of food security and facing
the global food prices soars.

Al-Arhabi praised the EU's contributions to support Yemen's efforts
aiming at executing the national strategy of food security,
stressing on the importance of coordination in the technical and
financial inputs of food security programs in Yemen.

The meeting was devoted for discussing issues relevant to the
technical aid presented by EU to execute the preliminary phase of
the Yemeni food security program.
