200 Ulama Gather at Malaysian Summit to Find Resolution to Liberating Al-Aqsa Mosque

SEPANG (Selangor, Malaysia), May 20 (Bernama) -- About 200 local and foreign ulama will gather at the Movenpick Hotel and Convention Centre KLIA (Movenpick KLIA) here for three days to attend the 2022 Ulama Summit beginning Friday, to seek a resolution to liberate the Aqsa Mosque from Israeli military attacks. MyAqsa Foundation Board of Trustees member Abd Rashid Idris said among the scholars who would be attending the summit with the theme of ‘Solidarity for the Liberation of Al-Aqsa’ were from Sudan, Tunisia, Algeria, India, Pakistan and Qatar as well as several muftis from Malaysia. “This summit will be a platform to unite and determine the direction of the scholars. We want to fight for the Al-Aqsa Mosque because it symbolises the Prophet Muhammad’s journey on the night of Al-Isra' wal-Mi'raj, "he said at a media briefing session in conjunction with the 2022 Ulama Summit here Thursday. Abd Rashid, who is also the joint director of the Main Committee of the summit, said there were four discussion sessions on the unification of the ummah and the liberation of the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli army. “All discussions will use Arabic as the medium of instruction as this summit is attended by scholars who are fluent in Arabic. It is not open to the public,” he said. -- BERNAMA
