Manama, May29 (BNA): The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) will take part in the expo which will be held in conjunction with the EU-Bahrain Conference “Broadening the Tent: Freedom of Religion and Belief”, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, organized by "This is Bahrain" Society. Several Bahraini governmental and private institutions, as well as a delegation from the European Union, will participate the event, which will take place in The Gulf Hotel from May 30 to June 1, 2022. BTEA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nasser Qaedi, said that that this participation aims to showcase the Kingdom of Bahrain's civilization and heritage, which spans more than five thousand years, as well as the tolerance, and coexistence demonstrated by Bahrain in all fields, which makes it a popular destination for visitors and tourists from all over the world. “BTEA’s pavilion during the exhibition will highlight Bahrain's cultural, human, ethnic, and religious diversity, which is a major tourist attraction which reflects the true nature and tolerance of the Bahraini society,” he said. He pointed out that Bahrain has a plethora of religious tourist attractions including the region's largest Catholic cathedral (Our Lady of Arabia Cathedral), as well as dozens of other churches, mosques, temples, and a synagogue. This is in addition to the earliest Hindu temple in the Gulf region, which was established in Manama two hundred years ago, and a Jewish cemetery in Bahrain that includes a synagogue. Dr. Qaedi emphasized that BTEA is also concerned with promoting Bahrain as a country that seeks to spread a culture of peace and tolerance, as well as supporting the international community's efforts to consolidate moderate values. This is in addition to Bahrain’s achievements in defending the rights of women, children, workers, and other groups, which stimulates the visitor's interest in Bahrain as a civilized, advanced country dedicated to human rights, where people live in security, prosperity, and peace.
