Bahrain: A global model as a diverse, thriving society

By Nayla Barakat
Manama, May 31 (BNA): Bahrain has emerged as a diverse and metropolitan society thanks to the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
“This diversity of our society is a sign of power and strength for Bahrain as stressed by His Majesty the King,” Bahrain Ambassador to the EU, Abdullah bin Faisal Al Doseri told BNA on the sidelines of the first EU-Bahrain Conference held under the theme “Broadening the Tent: Freedom of Religion and Belief.”
During the session, Al Doseri presented Bahrain’s perspective on the freedom of religion and beliefs.
He touched upon Bahrain’s foreign policy and diplomatic ties with the world.
He explained how the royal directives guide diplomacy policies and make the Kingdom a distinguished country in the region.
“Bahrain emerged as a metropolitan society built on multi-faith and multicultural and multinational backgrounds. This has become our society’s strength as His Majesty King has stated. Bahrain boasts rich diversity as a society and continues its development progress,” he said.
“We are blessed with the inspirational leadership and vision of His Majesty that is reflected in our foreign and diplomacy policy. The remarkably successful story of Bahrain in the freedom of religion and beliefs is something we need to share with the world. The harmonious co-existence in Bahrain is a vital pillar and foundation of the society and brings people together,” he said.
“I thank the EU for their participation in this important conference as the EU has been incredibly supportive to make this meet successful and FORB as well. The success of the first conference has consolidated the initiative and will pave the way for another era of a working-together relationship between Bahrain and the EU. We will take the success further, not only for the sake of this region but also beyond it for mutual and common benefits.”
