Foreign Minister praised Bahrain-Italy joint ties

Manama, Jun 2 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, participated in the reception hosted by the Italian Embassy at the Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq, on the occasion of the National Day of the friendly Italian Republic, in the presence of a number of senior officials and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, the minister expressed his best wishes to the Italian government and people on the occasion of its 76th National Day, coinciding with the golden jubilee of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of the the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to consolidate the bonds of cooperation, partnership and close friendship between the two countries.
He added that the Bahraini-Italian relations gained a qualitative historical leap with the official visit of His Majesty the King to Rome in 2008, which witnessed the signing of many agreements and memoranda of understanding.
He said that the friendly ties developed further through seventeen official visits, reaching their highest levels with the visit of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to Rome in February 2020 and the inauguration of the headquarters of the Bahraini Embassy, to complement the Italian Embassy’s continuous role in Manama since 2002.
He expressed his aspiration and confidence in achieving more achievements in terms of the strategic partnership between the two countries, and building on the strong ties in various political, economic, cultural and social fields, and fruitful cooperation in combating the Covid-19 pandemic, and other fields that bring prosperity to both countries, wishing the Italian Republic and its friendly people continued progress and prosperity.
Italian Ambassador Paola Amadi, expressed her thanks and appreciation to His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their interest in strengthening political and economic cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
She hailed the qualitative developments that the Kingdom is witnessing with the opening of its embassy in Rome, direct flights to Milan and Rome, and other positive developments coincide with the celebration of the golden jubilee of the establishment of diplomatic relations, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
