Al-Sharq Hails Qatar-Venezuela Distinguished Relations

Doha, June 15 (QNA) - In its Wednesday editorial, Al-Sharq newspaper highlighted the distinguished relations between the State of Qatar and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The two countries' relations are characterized by friendship and a common desire to develop them, as in recent years, these relations have witnessed steady growth in many fields, the paper said. The newspaper said that HE President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro's visit to Doha gives a new impetus to advance the relations between Doha and Caracas and raise them to broader horizons to serve the goals, aspirations, and common interests of the two countries. The two countries have shown keenness and desire of the two leaderships to strengthen and develop bilateral relations by signing 20 agreements and memoranda of understanding covering various sectors, such as air transport, double tax avoidance, visa-free entry, and political consultations, in addition to the judicial, financial, customs, tourism and agricultural fields the paper underlined, noting the convergence of views between the two countries on a number of regional and international issues, and diplomatic coordination in international forums. In conclusion, Al-Sharq said in its editorial that HE Venezuelan President's visit gains importance not only from the fact that it contributes to strengthening the bilateral relations process, which will celebrate its 50th year in a few months, but also because of the current international developments and the position occupied by Qatar and Venezuela as major energy players.
