MALAYSIAN DEVELOPER IS FOURTH RICHEST IN QUEENSLAND

By Neville D'Cruz

MELBOURNE, May 30 (Bernama) – Malaysian-born developer Maha Sinnathamby
has come in fourth of Queenslanders on the BRW (Business Review Weekly) Rich 200
list.

Maha, the man behind Australia's largest master-planned community in
Springfield, about 40km from Brishane, has a fortune estimated at A$771
million, far short of Queensland billionaire Clive Palmer's treasure chest of
A$3.4 billion, which was top of the state list.

Property was the business of 61 percent of Australia's richest.

Maha, who comes from Rentau in Negri Sembilan, is the richest former
Malaysian in Australia.

Cardboard manufacturer Anthony Pratt is the wealthiest person in Australia,
with an inherited A$4.30 billion fortune.

Iron ore magnate Gina Rinehart is the country's richest woman, with wealth
worth A$3.47 billion.

Combined wealth on the rich list has fallen about A$25 billion to A$114.1
billion because of the gloomy economic times.

Last year's number one, Andrew Forrest, has lost A$7.03 billion and is now
at eighth place.
