Local investor invests in hydropower construction
(KPL) A local company-SV Group will fork out US$10 million to invest in the construction of a small-scale hydropower dam with the capacity installation of 4 megawatt in Champassak province.
Director General of ST Group Company, Mr. Bounlieng Daranouvong said that the company will be launching a feasibility study for construction next month.
The construction of this dam will be placed at Houay Champy stream, Nongpakang village, Bachiengchalueansouk district, Champassak province.
The contracting company confirmed that the construction wok would be completed by 2012.
Mr. Bounlieng said, “This was an initiative step which it would be modified into the mega hydropower dam in the future”. The government granted 30 years of concession term to the SV Group Company.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, Mr. Thongme Phomvisay and Director General of ST Group Company, Mr. Bounlieng Dalanouvong, took place at the Ministry of Planning and Investment, 26 May.
