PM, Algerian FM Review Ongoing Preparations For The Convening Of The Arab Summit In Algeria

Baghdad / NINA / - Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi received today, Saturday, the Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, and his accompanying delegation. A statement by his media office stated that the meeting discussed relations between the two countries, and discussed a number of issues of common interest, especially with regard to energy and food security challenges that interacted due to the war in Ukraine as it has an impact on the whole world. Al-Kadhimi stressed Iraq's aspiration to consolidate relations with Algeria in various fields, in a manner that secures the interests of the peoples of the two countries in development and prosperity. For his part, the Algerian Foreign Minister affirmed his country's desire to enhance communication with Iraq and strengthen cooperation relations between them, in a way that reflects the depth of the brotherly ties that unite the two brotherly countries. According to the statement, the meeting reviewed the ongoing preparations for the convening of the Arab summit in Algeria on the first of next November. Emphasis was placed on activating the work of the Algerian-Iraqi joint committee to discuss the overall relations between the two countries at the end of this year, with its fourteenth session in Algeria. The two sides affirmed Iraq and Algeria's firm position to support the Palestinian cause and for the Palestinian people to obtain their full rights, and the Prime Minister praised the efforts made by the Algerian government in supporting the Palestinian national reconciliation measures and the unity of the Palestinian ranks. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides affirmed their pursuit and continuity of cooperation and coordination in various fields to serve the interests of the two countries, and the importance of concerted efforts that enhance the mechanisms of joint Arab action, and confront the challenges that the region is witnessing./ End
