33 travel agents join tour of former imperial capital
Thua Thien-Hue (VNA)- As many as 33 travel agents, including foreign companies,
joined a recent tour of the former imperial capital, Hue city, also a
UNESCO-recognised world cultural heritage site, to find out about its special tours
and tourist hotspots.
The trip, held by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Service for Thua Thien-Hue
province, enabled travel agents and journalists to get familiar with two tourist
attractions rich in Hue’s culture, namely the “Royal Palace Night” and an
arts performance at the famous Nghinh Luong Dinh on Huong river bank and aboard
Hue’s Royal Boat.
The “Royal Palace Night” is a programme of entertainment for tourists
featuring royal games, court music, royal dances, Hue classical drama and
folksongs as well as royal culinary arts with an extremely appetising menu. It
includes live music at the royal dinners, the culture surrounding tea, cakes and
other Hue specialties.
It also relives sparkling nights at the royal palace when crowds of mandarins,
courtesans and eunuchs were busy running back and forward serving the royal family.
“Royal Palace Night” programme has been performed at several Hue festivals
and won the “Gold Cup for Vietnamese Trademarks in Global Integration” in
2008.
The other programme focuses on concerts played at Nghinh Luong Dinh port and
aboard the royal ships on the Hue River , including court music, royal classic
drama and Hue folksongs.
In addition, the eco-tour on the Tam Giang lagoon, organised by the Tam Giang
Resort & Spa Company, has also attracted the interest of many travel
agents.--Enditem
