QSL: Markhiya Coach to QNA: Victory Over Al Sadd Increases Our Ambition

Doha, August 02 (QNA) - Al Markhiya SC coach Abdullah Mubarak described his teams victory over Al Sadd, the defending champion, 4-3 in the first round of Qatar Stars League (QSL) for the 2022/2023 football season as important. Al Markhiya coach said, in his statement to QNA, after the match on Monday that the victory did not come out of nowhere, and that they were able to deal largely with the strengths and weaknesses of the Al Sadd team, and succeeded in using the absence of some players of the competitor. Undoubtedly, the absence of international players had an impact over Al Sadd but the team remains the league champion, and plays with its personality. He concluded his statement to QNA by saying that without a doubt, winning raises the ambitions of Al Markhiya SC in the league, and that they have to turn the page of this victory and think about the next match. Meanwhile, Al Sadd SC coach Juanma Lillo said in a statement to the club's website that he was not satisfied with the performance and the result, and his team retreated after advancing by two goals without a response. He added that Al Sadd started the match with great comfort and managed to advance with two goals, while Al Markhiya relied on long balls, causing many problems for Al Sadd especially in the defensive aspects. Lillo concluded his statement by saying that Al Sadd received goals despite its strong defensive strategy, adding that there are some mistakes that occur in football and this is what led to the second goal of Al Markhiya.
