Campaign to exercise mindfully launched

Manama, Aug. 16 (BNA): A campaign to encourage people to exercise sports consciously and mindfully has been launched by the General Sports Authority (GSA). The "#exercise_mindfully" campaign was recommended by the sports cardiology conference held upon directives of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Charitable Work and Youth Affairs. The campaign coincides with the directives of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic, to make medical tests compulsory for all players and administrators in the leagues. The aim is to increase sports awareness programs and to enhance cooperation in various fields between the General Authority Sports and the Ministry of Health. The campaign is focused on social media platforms in cooperation and coordination with institutions affiliated with the General Authority for Sports from national federations and sports clubs. The weeks-long campaign will provide advice and recommendations for people practicing all forms of sports and will address misconceptions that could pose a threat to their health and safety. The campaign gains special significance in the summer where greater care and caution are required from people exercising in open areas.
