Public Security Chief receives US delegation

Manama, Aug. 24 (BNA): Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq bin Hassan Al Hassan, received today Professor David Wyrick, Head of the delegation of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) and North Carolina University in the United States. Director of Maan (together) against violence and addiction, Ali Ameeni, attended. The Chief of Public Security welcomed the guests, hailing the organisation’s role in developing Maan’s curriculum to improve the behaviour and skills of students and promote partnership between students, community police and society. He highlighted the support of the Interior Minister for the programme. The Chief reviewed with the delegation proactive security measures and the key role of the community police in Bahrain to achieve comprehensive security and the vision of the Interior Ministry. He also highlighted the dedication to fighting crimes through advanced systems adopted by developed countries. He hailed the competence of those involved in the Maan programme and their dedication to developing it within pioneering international standards to protect the youth from harmful practices and reinforce their life skills to face various challenges and risks. The Head of the delegation praised the outcomes of the first phase of a curriculum on peaceful coexistence and anti-extremism drafted by the Maan team. He revealed that the second phase is being prepared to develop the curriculum to meet the latest development at the local and international levels.
