PERUVIANS DETAINED FOR STEALING LUGGAGE AT AIRPORTS
SEPANG (Malaysia), June 3 (Bernama) -- Police detained three people including two Peruvians for stealing luggage at KL International Airport (KLIA) and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT).
This followed a raid on a house in Ampang Monday night where stolen items
worth RM20,000 were recovered.
Sepang police chief Supt Zahedi Ayob said the three detained were a
Malaysian man, 66, Peruvian man, 40, and a Peruvian woman, 24.
"We believe they form a theft syndicate run by the Malaysian who also find
buyers for the stolen items," he told reporters here today.
The stolen items recovered include mobile phones and laptop computers.
The suspects were remanded until June 5 to assist investigation under
Section 379 of Penal Code for theft.
