Education Minister participates in Transforming Education Summit 2022

New York, Sept. 17 (BNA): Commissioned by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, took part in the Transforming Education Summit 2022, held at the UN premises here, with the participation of education ministers off countries all over the world and the representatives of countries, agencies and international organisations. The first day of the Transforming Education Summit, September 2022 included plenary sessions, in which UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, participated in an interactive meeting with youth leaders, during which their role in transforming education was discussed. UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohamed, and President-elect of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Csaba Kőrösi, also participated in the opening session. The summit’s sessions focused on topics related to the global trend towards transforming education, and the participants presented many opinions about the most important factors to achieve this transformation, and the required role at the official and social levels. The lead-up to the summit featured meetings held by UNESCO and other national, regional and international organisations to make the education transformation cope with global developments. The meetings discussed matters related to the educational issue that should be focused on in the future. They also reviewed the impact of the novel Coronavirus pandemic on the educational process.
