C'WEALTH YOUTH FORUM PARTICIPANTS TO EXPERIENCE M'SIAN HOMESTAY

KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 (Bernama) -- Delegates of the Youth Forum under the
17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (17CCEM) to be held next
week, will have an opportunity to taste Malaysian style homestay.

World Youth Foundation chief operations officer Varsha Ajmera in a statement
here said the programme would enable delegates to spend time with Malaysian host
families prior to the formal programme and this would give young people a chance
to experience the diversity of Malaysian culture and traditions.

Themed 'Experiencing and Respecting Traditions', the five-day programme,
jointly-organised by the World Youth Foundation and Ministry of Higher
Education, will take place in Malacca from 9 to 14 June.

During the programme, delegates will stay with 30 foster families for three
days, where they will be involved in socio-cultural activities such as wedding
ceremonies, rubber tapping, paddy harvesting dan batik drawing.

Participants will also be exposed to the way of life of the various
communities as well as visit historical sites including the World
Youth Foundation Complex, Malacca Youth Museum, St Pauls's Church, Dutch Square,
A Famosa and Malacca River.

The World Youth Foundation is an international non-governmental organisation
