Lao NFT members visit Japan

(KPL) On 30 May, a send-off party for 22 Lao National Football Team members was given at Lao Plaza hotel. The delegation consists of 18 young football players, aged between 15-16, the team manager, head coach, assistant coach, and the team doctor.
They left for Japan on 1 June for their nine-day visit. This is part of Mekong-Japan Exchange year 2009 program.
During their nine-day stay in Tokyo and Fukushima prefecture, north of Tokyo, the Lao team will join teams from the other region countries: Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. In Fukushima they will take part in a training course so as to prepare for the Asia Football Championship (AFC) under 17, which will be held later this year. The training will be hosted by the Japan Football Association at the J-village, a modern football training center built in 1997. The team will also watch Japanese professional football game matches in Tokyo.
The party was attended by the Japanese Ambassador to Laos Mr Masaaki Miyashita, the Chairman of the Economy, Planning and Finance Commission Mr Khamsing Sayakone, and President of Lao-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association, and the Vice President of National Sport Committee, and the high ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Sports Committee also attended the party.
