M'SIAN PM URGES CHINESE COMPANIES TO CONSIDER STOCK EXCHANGE LISTING

BEIJING, June 5 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak
expressed the hope that he would like to see more Chinese companies explore the possibility of listing on Malaysian Stock Exchange.

He also asked them to consider investing in Iskandar Malaysia in southern
Johor-state and the East Malaysia Sarawak-state Corridor of Renewable Energy.

Already he said there was Chinese participation in thr Bakun hydroelectric
dam.

"There are many more dams being planned for Sarawak and you could bring your
construction expertise in hydro-electric products," Najib said in his opening
remarks at a roundtable discussion with Chinese entrepreneurs and members of the
Malaysia-China Business Council here.

Najib said he would like to see more entrepreneurs and investors from China
in Malaysia.

"I would like to assure entrepreneurs and investors from China that you
will be very welcomed in Malaysia. Our government is pro-business and a
market-friendly government that will facilitate the ease of doing business in
Malaysia," he stressed.

The prime minister said Malaysia, which had improved to become the 18th most
competitive country in the world, had also enhanced its public delivery system
and shortened approval processes for businesses.

Najib, who is also Finance Minister, said Malaysia hoped to see more
collaboration between Chinese and Malaysian entrepreneurs in financial services,
renewable energy, green technology, education, healthcare, water, tourism,
halal food besides the existing partnerships in property development and
manufacturing.
