First Lady of the Maldives visits King Hamad University Hospital

Manama, Oct. 7 (BNA): Accompanied by INJAZ Bahrain Board Chairperson, Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, First Lady of the Maldives, Fazna Ahmed, paid a visit today to the King Hamad University Hospital where they were received by Director General of Medical Affairs, Brigadier Prof. Hesham Yousef Al-Rayes.
The First Lady of the Maldives was informed about the hospital’s main accomplishments and services. She was also briefed about the hospital’s training and educational facilities, including mainly the Healthcare Academy which offers a practical nursing diploma programme that has enabled more than 450 Bahraini women to enroll in higher education and be employed in the health care services sector. A briefing was also given on the mental health services provided at King Hamad University Hospital.
The First Lady of the Maldives also visited the King Hamad University Hospital’s mini school in the children's ward, which was recently inaugurated in cooperation with Bahrain Trust and is concerned with educating children during their stay in the hospital.
Brigadier Prof. Hesham Al-Rayes praised strong relations between both countries and common keenness to further enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The First Lady of the Maldives expressed appreciation of the King Hamad University Hospital and the services it provides according to the highest international standards. She also commended the great support accorded by Bahrain leadership to the health sector, expressing keenness on further bolstering bilateral cooperation and benefiting from Bahrain’s experience.
