Health Minister honored by WHO Director General

Geneva, Oct. 7 (BNA): Minister of Health, Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, has been honored by Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for her efforts in vaccination. The honor constitutes a qualitative addition to the Kingdom of Bahrain for the presence of an expert and consultant in this field whose membership exceeded two consecutive terms in the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) of the World Health Organization, as the Minister of Health’s membership period is the longest term of an expert in the WHO’s Global Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization. The WHO Director General honored a number of the committee members yesterday and praised the existence of the Minister of Health in this international committee. He lauded her contributions and efforts in various health fields, pointing out her medical role through her membership in the committee.
