Foreign Minister chairs meeting of Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights

Manama, Oct. 27 (BNA): The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, chaired the meeting of the Higher Coordination Committee for Human Rights today, with the participation of members of the Committee from all relevant government agencies.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed the members of the committee, praising their valuable contributions in protecting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also commended the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to protect and promote human rights and freedom in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that the national human rights system in the Kingdom of Bahrain is witnessing constant development to protect the rights of citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He commended the efforts of the members of the coordination committee and their contribution to achieve joint cooperation and coordination.
The committee discussed a number of topics on its agenda, including the upcoming report of the universal periodic review of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will be presented at the meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva on the 7th of November,
the report of the Kingdom of Bahrain to eliminate racial discrimination, the latest recommendations of the national human rights plan, and a review of the latest national and international human rights reports.
