HM King’s statement at conclusion of visits of HH the Pope and HE Sheikh Al Azhar

Manama, Nov. 6 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his pride in His Holiness Pope Francis' historic official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as HE Dr. Ahmed Al Tayeb, Sheikh of the Al Azhar Mosque and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, and his rewarding meeting with them. HM the King Hamad commended the speeches of HH Pope Francis and HE Dr. Al Tayeb that reflected their commitment to human fraternity, peaceful coexistence and tolerance amongst peoples, as well as the promotion of dialogue and understanding between religions, cultures, and civilizations. HM the King commended the people of Bahrain for their hospitality and welcome to HH the Pope and Sheikh of the Al Azhar, as well as the Kingdom's other guests at the Bahrain Dialogue Forum, who share exceptional faith and adherence to noble humanitarian principles based on respect for all peoples and religions.
