S. Korean golfer Kim In-kyung wins second LPGA title

SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korean golfer Kim In-kyung grabbed her second
career LPGA title on Sunday (local time), edging out five-time major winner Pak
Se-ri at the US$1.7 million State Farm Classic held in Springfield, Illinois,
organizers and her agents in Seoul said Monday.

The 20-year-old golfer, who also lifted the 2008 Longs Drugs Challenge trophy,
finished the tour 17 under for a total of 271, beating her compatriot Pak by one
stroke, the LPGA said on its Web site. Kim receives the winner's prize of
$255,000.
Kim started the last round with 10 under, placed fourth, but she took the lead
after adding back-to-back birdies in 16th and 17th holes.
Seeking her first win in two years, Pak tried to match Kim with birdies on 13th
and 16th holes, but failed to grab the title by one shot.
Kim's victory marks the third LPGA title for South Korean female golfers in the
2009 season, following Shin Ji-yai's win in March and Oh Ji-young's title in May.
Other South Koreans -- Han Hee-won and Lee Jee-young -- shared third with 15
under in the tournament and Ji Eun-hee finished sixth with 14 under.
