Pres. Raisi honors women sport medalists

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said on Wednesday that today women have a high share of the country's honors in different fields, adding that medal-winning and championship of Iranian women athletes in various regional and global arenas are very valuable, admirable, and hopeful. Speaking on Wednesday in the ceremony praising women who have won medals in sports, which was held in the Summit Hall, President Raisi called attention to sports and supporting athletes as an important and central approach of the 13th Administration and noted that today, attention to sports, especially professional and championship sports are one of the necessities for physical health, personal and social vitality. The President stated that today's female medal winners are a manifestation of national and popular courage and power, adding that supporting athletes as valuable assets of the country is on the agenda of the government. Stating that today women have a high share of the country's honors in various fields, the President underlined that medal-winning and championship of Iranian women athletes in various regional and global fields are very valuable, admirable, and hopeful and this proud path must continue. Described the winning of 1,363 medals and sports championship titles in the 13th Administration as a historic record and a sign of the determination of Iranian youth to be proud of, President Raisi stated that Iran's iron-willed youth, especially female athletes, who are trying to win honor at the international level and hoist the proud flag of the country in the peaks of honor and pride. President Raisi added that today Iranian women play a very important and outstanding role not only in the field of sports but also in various areas of science, research as well as providing services to the people.
