Foreign media, entertainment firms to visit Seoul for content purchases

SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) -- The Walt Disney Co., Sony Online Entertainment LLC, and
other foreign media and entertainment companies are to visit Seoul later this
month to buy contents created by local companies and discuss business alliances
with them, the country's trade promotion agency said Monday.
According to the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), 210 foreign
media and entertainment companies from 34 countries will attend Korea Media &
Content Market 2009, featuring South Korean dramas, games and animation films.
The foreign companies attending the two-day fair starting June 29 will include
Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., Lucasfilm Ltd, Groupo Televisa, South America's
largest television station, and Nickelodeon, an American cable television channel
owned by the MTV Networks division of Viacom.
