Tehran, Minsk call for boosting mutual ties: VP
Tehran, IRNA - Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber said on Tuesday that the development of economic relations between Tehran and Minsk is being pursued at various fields, including transit, energy, and industry.
Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber met and held talks with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko here in Tehran on Tuesday.
Iran and Belarus are determined to develop relations in various fields, including economic area, Mokhber said, adding that one of the main issues that were decided at this meeting is to enable the private sector of the two countries to be formed by the Chambers of Commerce of Iran and Belarus.
Stressing the roadmap for economic development between Tehran and Minsk, he underlined that the two countries have great capacities in the areas of trade, transit, energy, and industry, while also the two sides can work together in the field of information exchange and technical knowledge.
Describing the determination of the two countries to promote political and economic relations, he highlighted that the political relations between Iran and Belarus are at a good level, but it is not proportional to economic relations and it has been decided to bring economic relations to a good level.
Referring to the unilateral sanctions by the arrogance, especially the US and the West, Mokhber added that given the experience which existed in Iran to manage the country under sanctions conditions, these experiences could be exchanged between Tehran and Minsk.
Describing the political relations between Iran and Belarus as a deep-rooted and very good one, Mokhber stated that during the meeting the two sides decided to promote the level of economic relations to the same extent as that of the political ties.
Golovchenko, heading a politico-economic delegation, arrived in the Iranian capital on Tuesday to discuss ways to develop ties.
Upon arrival at Mehrabad Airport, western Tehran, Golovchenko was welcomed by Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi-Amin.
His Tehran visit takes place after the agreement reached by the Iranian and Belarusian presidents on the sidelines of the September summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Uzbekistan.
