KUAN YEW WALKS DOWN MEMORY LANE IN SEREMBAN
SEREMBAN (Malaysia), June 10 (Bernama) -- Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's first
prime minister and the Father of Modern Singapore, spent half an hour visiting
places he had been to this southern city in his younger days.
Lee who used to come to Seremban 60 years ago as a lawyer, visited the
building that used to house the courts. It is located near the state police
headquarters building.
In Lee's delegation during the visit were Singapore's Finance Minister
Tharnam Shanmugaratnam, Education Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen and Acting Minister of
Information, Communications and the Arts, Rear Admiral (Rtd) Lui Tuck Yew.
Southern state of Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister Mohamad Hasan had welcomed
Lee and his delegation on their arrival, accompanied them on their short tour
and briefed them on Seremban's development.
Lee, the Minister Mentor, is on a eight-day visit to neighbouring Malaysia.
He arrived Monday.
