Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union lauds Bahrain's support for joint Arab action

Cairo, Jan. 7 (BNA): The Executive Committee of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) has lauded the key role played by the kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to promote joint Arab parliamentary action, citing Bahrain’s constant support for various parliamentary events aimed at enhancing Arab cooperation and achieving common aspirations. Participants in the 29th session of AIPU Executive Committee, held here today, expressed thanks and appreciation to the kingdom’s legislative branch for its efforts to support AIPU, commending the role played by the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and AIPU Speaker, Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, to strengthen parliamentary relations among Arab countries, which boosts AIPU’s role and increases its achievements. In this regard, Second Deputy Speaker of the Representatives Council, MP Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, the Head of the kingdom’s delegation to the meeting, conveyed greetings from Speaker Al-Musallam, to the participants, and assertion of the importance of increasing AIPU’s achievements to meet the aspirations of member states, and contribute to coordinating stances at various parliamentary gatherings. MP Qarata affirmed the commitment of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation to supporting Arab issues at regional and international parliamentary gatherings, being an integral part of the kingdom’s parliamentary diplomacy.
