CEOs of world's leading mobile operators to visit Seoul
SEOUL, June 11 (Yonhap) -- Chief executive officers and other top-level
representatives of some of the world's leading mobile operators will visit Seoul
next week to participate in a global trade meeting, officials said Thursday.
Members of the GSM Association board, composed of top officials from mobile
carriers including China Mobile and Britain's Vodafone, will be coming together
for the event, hosted by South Korea's two major mobile carriers, SK Telecom Co.
and KT Corp.
The GSM Association is a trade group that promotes the development of global
standard mobile communications and represents the interests of more than 700
global network operators, manufacturers, regulators and administration bodies.
The 26 participants in the board meeting, to be held on June 14 and 15, include
Alexander Izosimov, CEO of Russia-based VimpelCom and GSMA chairman for
2009-2010, and Bill Hague, executive vice president of AT&T and the group's
deputy chair.
The agenda for the two-day meeting will be disclosed after the meeting, a KT
official said.
