Syria, Iran top military officials discuss enhancing joint cooperation

23 January، 2023 Tehran, SANA-The Minister of Defense, General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, held talks in Tehran on Monday with chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, , on bilateral relations and the promotion of joint cooperation to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples. General Abbas pointed out that the close cooperation between the two countries had fruitful results in defeating terrorism and aggressive plots, and that the victory achieved over terrorism is a joint victory. He also appreciated Iran for standing with Syria in its war against terrorism, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation, consultation and joint coordination. Bagheri, for his part, appreciated the resistance of Syria’s leadership, people and army against the conspiracies. He pointed to the importance of the visit paid by General Abbas to Tehran in strengthening coordination and consultation between the two countries, stressing Iran’s continued support for Syria in various fields.
