Jupiter Meets Venus In Qatar Sky Next Thursday Evening

Doha, February 27 (QNA) - Qatar Calendar House (QCH) announced Monday that the giant of the solar system, the planet Jupiter will meet with the third brightest celestial body Venus in the sky of the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region on the evening of Thursday, Sha`ban 10, 1444 AH, corresponding to March 2, 2023 AD, where the angular distance between them during this phenomenon will be approximately one arc degree. Astronomer at QCH Dr. Bashir Marzouk said that the residents of the State of Qatar will be able to observe the two planets Jupiter and Venus together above the western horizon from Thursday sunset and even before Jupiter sets, knowing that sunset in the sky of the State of Qatar will be at 17:36, while the buyer's sunset time will be at 19:50 Doha local time. At Thursday dawn, Saturn will meet the planet closest to the sun, Mercury, in the sky of the State of Qatar, where Mercury will be at an angular distance of approximately one degree of arc south of the center of Saturn, he added. Residents of the State of Qatar can monitor the planets Saturn and Mercury together above the eastern horizon in the dawn sky, using astronomical devices, after sunrise over the sky of Qatar at 5:26 on Thursday, Doha local time, until Thursday prior to sunrise at 5:57 local Doha time, taking into account the absence of any obstructions towards the eastern horizon, in addition to the fact that the best places to monitor this phenomenon are places far from light and environmental pollutants. The importance of these astronomical phenomena lies in the fact that they are a good opportunity to see, monitor, and photograph the planets Jupiter and Venus together at the closest point on the sky page after sunset and to monitor the planets Saturn and Mercury in the dawn sky, in addition to confirming the accuracy of astronomical calculations in calculating the orbits of the movement of celestial bodies, especially the movement of planets of our solar system, a guide for astronomers in the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region to learn about the celestial bodies that can be monitored and seen every night in the sky of the State of Qatar. The phenomenon of conjunction occurs for the planets of the solar system when one of the planets approaches another planet for the observer from the surface of the earth, and it also occurs between the moon and the planets of the solar system when the angular distance between the moon and one of the planets decreases in relation to the observer from the surface of the earth, with an emphasis on the fact that these phenomena are natural and have no effect on the inhabitants of the globe.
