Shura Chairman receives Sri Lankan Ambassador

Manama, Feb. 27 (BNA): The Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh met newly-appointed Sri Lankan Ambassador to Bahrain, Rethesree Wigertney Mendes.

The chairman affirmed that the flourishing Bahraini-Sri Lankan relations, and the growing areas of cooperation and coordination, reflect the keenness of the two countries to advance work for the benefit of the two countries and their peoples.

He praised the historical close bilateral ties, stressing the interest and keenness of the Shura Council to strengthen parliamentary relations with Sri Lanka, and to exchange visions on issues and topics that are discussed in parliamentary forums.

The ambassador stressed that the countries have common areas of interest to work on together, such as, trade exchange, and the promotion of tourism and investment.
