FM Discusses Lifting The European Air Ban Imposed On Iraqi Airlines
Baghdad / NINA / -Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met the delegation of the European Parliament for relations with Iraq, at the Ministry's building in Baghdad.
The ministry said in a statement, "The minister welcomed the head of the Committee on Relations with Iraq in the European Parliament, Sarah Skatedale, where he reviewed the political situation in Iraq, the Iraqi government's policy and its integrated program in providing services and eliminating the remnants of ISIS terrorist cells."
The two sides stressed "the continuation of cooperation and ways to strengthen relations with the European Union in various sectors, referring to the expected visit of the Minister to Brussels in the middle of this month to stand and find solutions to problems related to the European Union, as the Iraqi delegation will include members from various relevant common sectors, as well as attending the meetings of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the European Union.
The minister stressed "the need for cooperation between the Iraqi parliament and the European Union parliament and developing ways of cooperation between them."
The two sides discussed "the issue of water shares with neighboring countries and the need to find common solutions for that. The issue of lifting the European air embargo imposed on Iraqi airlines and overcoming all requirements for the purpose of resuming flights to European Union countries was also discussed, in order to enhance economic relations between the two sides."
For their part, the delegation of the European Parliament indicated "the desire to cooperate and discuss various issues during the visit of the Iraqi delegation, including the immigration file and the activation of the cooperation and partnership agreement between the two sides."/ End
