MALAYSIA-INDONESIA RENEW MoU ON AIR TRAFFIC
KUALA LUMPUR, June 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Indonesia have renewed a
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to facilitate increased air traffic rights for
the existing passenger and cargo services between the two countries.
The Transport Ministry in a statement Thursday said the agreement was
reached following negotiations between the ministry and Indonesia's Flight
Authorities which concluded on Wednesday in Putrajaya.
The ministry was represented by its Secretary General, Zakaria Bahari
while Indonesia was represented by its Air Traffic Director Tri S. Sunoko.
Following the renewal, airlines from both the countries will have the extra
flight rights to provide passenger and cargo services.
The provision of more liberal traffic rights is important amid the
tremendous growth in air transportation in both the countries, the statement
added.
