Bahrain, Georgia sign MoU on judicial cooperation

Manama, Mar. 12 (BNA): Attorney General, Dr. Ali bin Fadhl Al-Buainain, received here today the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Georgia, Irakli Shotadze, and his accompanying delegation.
The Georgian delegation is on a visit to the kingdom to discuss areas of cooperation and exchange of expertise in the judicial fields.
The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation (MoU) in various areas related to judicial affairs.
The MoU aims to support effective law enforcement and prosecution of transnational organised crimes, in addition to enhancing cooperation in legal and judicial fields of common priority, by providing judicial assistance and technical advice, exchanging information and experiences and establishing mechanisms for effective and regular bilateral communication.
Dr. Al-Buainain stressed the compatibility of visions and judicial efforts between Bahrain's Public Prosecution and its Georgian counterpart in the field of judicial cooperation at all levels, based on the important role they play in establishing justice, and their belief in the importance of close and effective cooperation in the judicial field, in a way that strengthens justice mechanisms in accordance with approved international practices.
Georgia's Prosecutor General expressed delight at the signing of the memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two sides in order to establish the rule of law and the administration of justice.
