Ombudswoman receives Swedish Ambassador-designate to Bahrain

Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Ombudswoman Ghada Hamid Habib received today a Swedish delegation led by Swedish Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Bahrain, residing in Abu Dhabi, Liselott Andersson. The meeting was attended by Director of International Cooperation and Development, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa.

The Ombudswoman provided a briefing on the duties of the Ombudswoman’s Office, being the first-of-its-kind independent executive institution in the region. She stressed concordance of its work mechanism with the international standards and provided a briefing, too, on the duties of the Prisoners and Detainees Rights Commission.

The meeting spotlighted issues of common interest and cooperation of the Ombudswoman’s Office with the diplomatic missions of friendly and brotherly countries.
