Shura Chairman receives Iraq's Council of Representatives Speaker

Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh stressed strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Iraq and their role in unifying visions. He emphasized the kingdom’s support to the efforts aimed at boosting stability, security and peace in Iraq.
This came during a meeting today with Speaker of Iraq’s Council of Representatives, Mohammed Raikan Al-Halbousi, and his accompanying delegation, on the sidelines of their participation in the 146th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly being hosted by Bahrain from March 11 to 15.
The Shura Council Chairman pointed out that the Bahraini-Iraqi relations are based on mutual respect and fraternity. He praised keenness of the Iraqi Council of Representatives to participate in the IPU meetings, stressing that it reflects interest in enriching the parliamentary dialogues regarding various issues.
Al-Halbousi commended Bahrain’s unprecedented success in organizing the biggest parliamentary gathering, stressing that the attendance of the Speakers and representatives of the parliaments of most of the countries in the world is an international appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain and an assertion of its role in fostering global peace, coexistence and tolereance.
