Shura Chairman receives Speaker of India's Lok Sabha

Manama, Mar. 13 (BNA): Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh praised strong historical relations between Bahrain and India, pointing out continuous cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries in various fields.

He was speaking at a meeting today with Speaker of India’s Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, held on the sidelines of his participation in the 146th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, which is hosted by Bahrain from March 11 to 15.

The Indian Lok Sabha Speaker expressed thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom of Bahrain for its successful hosting of the IPU meetings, stressing the kingdom’s advanced status on the world map given its active and dedicated efforts to promote peace, tolerance and coexistence all over the world.

The meeting was attended by Shura Council Second Deputy Chairman Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel and Secretary General Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi.
