LMRA Chief Executive receives Sri Lankan ambassador

Manama, Mar. 22 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Head of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Persons, Nouf AbdulRahman Jamsheer, received at the authority’s Headquarters Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Rethesree Wigertney Mendes.
She congratulated the ambassador on her appointment, wishing her success in performing her duties. She further emphasized the important role of diplomatic missions in cooperating with the government entities to raise the awareness of expatriate workers of their rights and duties.
The LMRA Chief Executive discussed with the Ambassador prospects for cooperation between the authority and the embassy, stressing the Kingdom's commitment to continuously develop the work environment to maintain stable working relations that preserve the rights of work parties without discrimination.
She briefed the diplomat on the developments in the labour market, including projects, systems, and initiatives launched by the Kingdom to develop the work environment, preserve the rights of all work parties, and provide protection to workers.
She also highlighted the recently launched Labour Registration Programme and its benefits to workers inside the Kingdom of Bahrain.
