Seoul shares down 1.06 pct in late morning

SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks extended earlier losses late
Monday morning as most large-cap shares turned negative amid lingering jitters

over an economic recovery, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 15.2 points to
1,413.39 as of 11:20 a.m.
Most shares turned negative as institution investors trimmed their holdings in
tech, steel and banking issues. Telecom issues were among the few climbers with
industry leaders SK Telecom and KT gaining ground.
The local currency was trading at 1,260.75 won to the U.S. dollar as of 11:20
a.m., down 6.85 won from Friday's close.
