Bahrain and UAE Ambassador to Brazil host Ramadan Iftar

Brasilia, Apr.19 (BNA): Bahrain Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil  Bader Abbas Al Hulaibi hosted a Ramadan Iftar, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in Brasilia.

 

Addressing the event, the ambassador noted that the month of Ramadan promotes the values of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity which are also an integral part of Bahrain’s national identity.

 

He noted that Bahrain and the UAE  promote cultural pluralism, hosting more than 200 nationalities that enjoy a decent life and respect.

 

"The capitals of both countries have become the crossroads where civilizations of East and West meet to promote peace and rapprochement between peoples", he said.

 

He said that Bahrain had many  churches, synagogues, Hindu temples and places of worship for all religions to practice their religious rites, noting the launch in 2017 of  the   "Declaration of the Kingdom of Bahrain", which is an international document on the concept of human coexistence, which led to  the establishment of the "King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence".

 

"This international document also stems from the historical foundations of peaceful coexistence in the Kingdom of Bahrain, whose roots extend back hundreds of years", he added.

 

UAE Ambassador Ahmed Al Suwaidi also addressed the event, highlighting the contributions of the United Arab Emirates to supporting peace and intercultural ties on the basis of respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, that emanate from the visions of the founding elders and late Shaikh Zayed by Sultan Al Nahyan. He noted that the UAE celebrated on April 10 the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work.

 

Ambassador Sidney Romero, Director of the Middle East Department at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered a speech in which he praised the policies of tolerance and coexistence in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
