REALISING 1MALAYSIA CONCEPT THROUGH CADETS CAMP
KOTA BELUD (Malaysia), June 15 (Bernama) -- The national camp for the cadet
corps is an effort towards achieving the objectives of the 1Malaysia concept,
Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman said Monday.
He said the camp had gathered 555 cadets of various racial, cultural and
religious backgrounds from throughout the country.
"This programme moulds the cadets to be disciplined and responsible
citizens. The participants have been made to understand the meaning of unity,
the importance of mutual respect among the races, love for the country and
willingness to defend the nation's sovereignty," he said in his speech at the
close of the camp at Paradise Camp, here.
The text of his speech was read out by Deputy Chief Minister Yahya
Hussin.
Musa said the camp, organised jointly by the Education Ministry and the
Defence Ministry, also served as the premise to mould youngsters to be
physically, mentally and spiritually resilient to face challenges.
The national camp, held annually over the last 13 years, was hosted by
Sabah, an East Malaysia state, for the first time.
