S. Korea to host 1st Asian eco-culture conference
SEOUL, June 15 (Yonhap) -- The first international conference on Asian
eco-culture will be held in South Korea later this month, attended by dozens of
regional experts from Japan, China, Vietnam, Iran and more, Seoul's culture
ministry said Monday.
Under the theme "Creative Union of Asia, Eco and Culture," the conference will be
held June 25 in the southwestern city of Gwangju, with more than 300 attendants
anticipated, the ministry's press release said.
Discussions will be led by South Korea's Park Yin-hui of Yonsei University,
Iran's Mojtaba Ardestani of Teheran University, Japan's Asakura Toshio of the
National Museum of Ethnology, and China's Xiang Yong, vive-chairman of the
Culture Industry Research Institute, among others.
Applications to attend can be submitted at www.aec.or.kr until Thursday. The
conference will start at 9 a.m. at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Gwangju.
