Korean Air signs US$300 mln deal to buy high-end engines

SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- Korean Air Lines Co., South Korea's top carrier, said
Tuesday that it has signed a US$300 million deal to purchase high-end engines to
upgrade its six new planes.

Under the deal with Pratt & Whitney of the United States, Korean Air will buy 14
engines for its six new Airbus A330-200, the company said in a statement.
Last February, Korean Air clinched a deal with the European manufacturer Airbus
S.A.S. to introduce six Airbus A330-200 between 2010 and 2013.
