An Iraqi-Pakistani Desire To Increase The Volume of Trade, Sign A MoU, And Establish A Joint Business Council

Baghdad / NINA / - Iraq and Pakistan expressed their desire to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.

 

 A statement of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce stated: "The President of the Federation, Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, met today at the Federation's headquarters, Pakistani Ambassador Ahmed Amjad Ali, to discuss ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two countries on issues of common interest."

 

The statement added, "This visit comes among the outputs of the Pakistani delegation's visit, headed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, to hold an economic forum between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Pakistani Chambers."

 

 The statement quoted Al-Zuhairi as stressing the importance of strengthening aspects of trade relations by diversifying the frameworks of consultation in a way that contributes to achieving the aspirations of Baghdad and Islamabad, and raising the pace of bilateral trade cooperation on various investment, economic and development levels for the benefit of both countries.

 

 In turn, the Pakistani ambassador said: "The two countries have important relations in various religious and cultural fields and common bilateral interests," noting: "The volume of trade between Iraq and Pakistan is not the size of ambition, but there is a beginning to increase the volume of exchange through trade agreements."

 

 The two parties seek, according to the statement, to: sign a memorandum of understanding between the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and the Federation of Trade and Industry of Pakistan regarding trade exchange and cooperation between the two parties and the establishment of a joint business council./ End
