Turkish Airlines Looking to Increase Connectivity with Malaysia, Indonesia

From Siti Radziah Hamzah

ISTANBUL, June 6 (Bernama) -- Turkiye's national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, is keen on strengthening its connectivity with Malaysia and Indonesia, given the increasing interest among Malaysian and Indonesian tourists in visiting Turkiye, said chairman Ahmet Bolat.

He said currently, flights between both countries and Turkiye are running at full capacity, adding that the airline currently flies between Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul daily.

“Our connectivity with both countries is currently limited, and right now, flights from both destinations are full.

“If the frequency of flights can be increased, we will expand in Malaysia and Indonesia," he told a media briefing on the carrier's expansion plans on Monday.

The media briefing was held on the sidelines of the International Air Transport Association's 79th annual general meeting and World Air Transport Summit from June 4-6.

“We had codeshare cooperation with Malindo. Now we are talking to Malaysia Airlines but I am more interested in direct transfers," said Ahmet.
