Political Affairs Undersecretary participates in ministerial meeting of Global Coalition Against Daesh

Riyadh, June 8 (BNA): The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the ministerial meeting of the Global Coalition against Daesh, in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting had the participation of a number of foreign ministers and representatives of more than 85 countries and partner organizations in the coalition, including the University of Arab countries, the European Union, Interpol, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the Community of Sahel-Saharan African States.
Dr. Al Khalifa reviewed the efforts of Bahrain as an active partner in the international coalition against ISIS, based on its firm stance in combating extremism and terrorism in all its forms.
He stressed Bahrain’s firm commitment to support regional and international efforts in eliminating terrorism, and spread the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, that support international peace and security.
The Undersecretary praised the international partnership between the members of the Global Coalition Against ISIS, its capabilities to keep pace with global changes and emerging threats in many geographical areas, and its commitment to prevent the flow of terrorist fighters across borders, support stability, and confront the terrorist organization's misleading media and incitement propaganda.
Dr. Al Khalifa stressed the importance of consolidating international efforts in combating extremism and terrorism, preventing its financing, and addressing common security threats.
