Today's Newspapers Follow The Political And Economic Dimensions Of The Visit Of The Emir Of Qatar And The Celebrations Of The Iraqi Press Day

Baghdad / NINA / -The newspapers issued in Baghdad today, Saturday, 17th June, followed the visit of the Emir of Qatar and its political and economic dimensions, and continued to pay attention to the celebrations of the Iraqi Press Day.

Al-Sabah newspaper, published by the Iraqi Media Network, followed the visit of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and its economic dimensions and the role it might play in resolving the water issue between Iraq and Turkey.

In this regard, it referred to the words of the economic analyst Mahmoud Dagher: "The visit of the leader of a country with great regional influence to Iraq will have an economic impact, and Qatar is the second or third country in the world in gas production, and Iraq needs an alternative to Iranian gas. It also owns companies that can share Iraq in obtaining gas from its lands.

Dagher added, "Extending the Qatari pipeline to Europe - as a strategic project - could constitute important beginnings for Iraq in the process of developing economic growth, distributing economic activity, and benefiting from the transit fees from this pipeline linking Qatar and Europe, especially after the problems that Europe faced with the Russian gas ".

He added, "The State of Qatar is a major player in the region, despite being a small country, but it can support Iraq and play an appropriate role in influencing Turkey on the issue of water in Iraq, and this follows the ability of the Iraqi negotiator and the tools it has that it can use with Qatar and Turkey."

While the economic expert, Hazem Hadi, stressed, according to Al-Sabah, the importance of the visit of the Emir of the State of Qatar to Baghdad, especially in the matter of investment and development, which will help revive this field in the country and give confidence to other countries to enter the Iraqi arena.

Al-Zawra newspaper, published by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, continued its focus in the celebrations of the National Day of the Iraqi Press, and the congratulations received by the press family from the highest levels in the country on this occasion.

The newspaper said: "The three presidencies, and the President of the Federation of Arab Journalists, Moayad Al-Lami, congratulated the press family on the occasion of the 154th anniversary of the Iraqi National Press Day, while stressing the need to provide protection for it and strengthen the status of the Iraqi press."

It added: "The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate witnessed an official, political, parliamentary and media presence on the occasion of the National Day of the Iraqi Press."

It quoted a statement by the Syndicate: "The headquarters of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate has witnessed, since Thursday, an official, political, parliamentary and popular presence on the occasion of the celebration of the Syndicate and the Iraqi press family on the occasion of the 154th anniversary of the Iraqi National Press Day."

The statement added: "The President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, received telegrams of congratulations and bouquets of flowers on the occasion, as the Prime Minister's advisor attended and presented congratulations and a bouquet of flowers from the Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, who affirmed in his telegram his pride in the giving and achievements of the heroes of the Fourth Authority and reiterated the government's commitment to protecting freedoms and promoting the status of the constructive free national press.

The President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate also received, according to the statement, telegrams of congratulations and bouquets of flowers from the First Lady, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, Hadi al-Amiri, head of Fatah Alliance, Minister of Planning Muhammad Tamim, Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul Ghani, Minister of Trade Atheer al-Ghurairy, Minister of Defense Thabet al-Abbasi and Minister of Water Resources Aoun Diab, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi, Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri, Farhad Nematallah Hussein, Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Head of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, and Mayor of Baghdad, Eng. As for Al-Zaman newspaper, it followed the issue of resuming oil exports from the Kurdistan region.

Al-Zaman said: "The Ministry of Oil has set a date for an upcoming meeting between Turkey and Iraq in Baghdad next Monday, to discuss the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan region, which has been suspended since May 25, to the Turkish port of Ceyhan."

The newspaper added: "The Ministry of Oil confirmed that the export rate is stable at 3.3 million barrels per day through the ports of Basra, in Iraq's compliance with OPEC decisions to support the balance of the barrel price in the global market, and that the ministry is ready to resume pumping oil from the Kurdistan region at a rate of 500 thousand barrels per day."

It continued: "A spokesman for the Ministry of Oil, Asim Jihad, expected the resumption of oil exports through the port of Ceyhan during the next few days."

It quoted him as saying: "Iraq and Turkey agree on the need to resume oil exports as soon as possible."

Jihad added: "Turkey is focusing on the issue of examining and maintaining the pipeline due to its damage from the earthquake, but the truth is its desire to resolve the issue of the fine imposed on it before resuming export."

He explained, "The meeting will focus on the resumption of oil exports," expecting the resumption of exports during the next few days, at a rate of 500,000 barrels per day./ End
